GLHV Patrons

A few words from our patrons:

“As a woman of 50 who has been completely out as a lesbian since I was in my early 20’s, I can still feel embarrassed about discussing my sexuality openly with doctors and nurses when it is obviously relevant to do so. There are just times in life when you feel a bit more vulnerable and self conscious…and one of those time is when you’re in a hospital and you are completely naked…except for a white smock that is tied loosely at the back…so your bottom is showing if you walk. Everything we can do to make health professionals more sensitive and welcoming to people of all sexual preferences…is worth doing…and I’m proud to be part of this educational effort!” – Julie McCrossin

“An immense amount of hard work has gone into bringing this initiative to life – so thank you to those people who have spent long hours sitting on committees and negotiating a fair go for our community. I support any effort that seeks to give gays and lesbians – indeed, all in our diverse community – a sense of equity and wellbeing.” – Anton Enus
