How We Manage Sexual & Gender Diversity In The Public Health System

Northern Sydney Central Coast Health (NSCCH) is the first Area Health Service in NSW to endorse multi-strategic activities exploring the impact of homophobia and heterosexism upon consumers, providers and the health system. Our research found that openly heterosexist and homophobic discrimination continues. This picture is becoming more complicated because other forms of prejudice have come to light that are equally if not more challenging. Of great concern is how complaints about discrimination and victimisation are trivialised or underestimated by managers.
